Why Work With Us
We combine strong local knowledge with a proven track record of delivering impactful programmes for young people across Kensington & Chelsea. Our work is built on trusted relationships, inclusive and accessible provision, and a team of experienced, relatable staff who understand the needs of the community. We take a collaborative and flexible approach, working closely with partners to design and deliver programmes that create real, measurable outcomes. Ultimately, the difference we make is best seen through the young people we support and their families, their experiences and journeys speak far more powerfully than anything we could say.Case Study: SM
SM first attended FFLY’s Boxing Club in September 2024, coming along with friends who had previously been part of the club. Initially, he was quite reserved and introverted, mostly keeping to himself and only interacting with those he already knew.
Over time, through consistent engagement and regular conversations, we took the opportunity to get to know Samuel better and understand more about his background, school life and interests. We (coach Leo) quickly found a shared interest in football, which became a starting point for building a positive relationship. Spending time outside on the pitch, doing passing and shooting drills, helped him grow in confidence and open up further.
As our conversations continued, SM shared his interest in basketball, so we introduced more activities around this, including shooting drills and friendly competition. We also began playing regular table tennis matches, which created a relaxed space for ongoing conversations about his progress, interests and future plans.
Through this consistent support and engagement, SM has become more confident, communicative and involved. He is now actively exploring his options for further education, attending open evenings and thinking about his next steps. He has also taken on more responsibility within the group, including helping to organise a team for an upcoming local football tournament, where he will take on a leadership role as captain as well as being the captain at our now Amateur Boxing Club.
SM is a bright, focused and motivated young person with strong potential. What began as a connection through sport has developed into a relationship built on trust, communication and mutual respect.
Case Study: T
When Chelsea Youth Club first opened, T was one of the young people who began attending. Initially shy, he quickly became more confident, showing a lively and joyful personality as he settled into the space.
T is an aspiring footballer with ambitions of playing professionally, and he regularly shares his passion for the sport. He engages well with staff, shows respect and is always willing to take part in activities. Like many young people, he can sometimes find it challenging to stay focused or take responsibility for tasks such as tidying up, and has experienced difficulties at school, including time spent in isolation.
Through consistent support and regular conversations, staff have worked with T to reflect on these situations and develop a more positive approach to his behaviour and decision-making. The youth club has provided him with a safe and supportive environment where he feels comfortable speaking openly, building trust and receiving guidance.
T continues to grow in confidence and self-awareness, and benefits from having a space where he can express himself positively and stay engaged in structured activities. He is a kind and energetic young person with a lot of potential, and with continued support and focus, has the ability to achieve his goals.
Case Study: D
D is a young person who has been attending sessions weekly at Lancaster Youth Club. Since joining, she has shown clear progression in her confidence and social skills, building positive relationships with her peers and making new friends.
She has played an active role within the youth club, encouraging others to attend and helping to introduce new members to the space. D is welcoming, supportive and has become someone her peers feel comfortable approaching, often offering advice and support when others are facing challenges.
D has a strong interest in beauty, particularly lash extensions, and has already begun practising by doing her friends’ lashes. She demonstrates a clear understanding of current trends and is able to confidently communicate her ideas and knowledge to others. She has also shown a strong awareness of social media and how it can be used to grow a business, and has spoken about her ambition to become a lash technician in the future.
Through her time at the youth club, D has taken part in a range of activities including cooking, table tennis and group projects such as the girls’ talk sessions. She is now a member of the youth board, where she confidently shares her views and contributes to shaping the space for other young people.
D has developed into a confident, determined and compassionate young person. She has built strong relationships with both staff and peers, consistently shows resilience and continues to step outside of her comfort zone. D has a bright future ahead of her and is focused on achieving her goals.
Case Study: Young Person
At the start of Chelsea Youth Club, this young person was very quiet and withdrawn. While always respectful, he found it difficult to engage with staff and largely kept to himself during sessions, avoiding interaction with other young people.
As he began attending more regularly, he gradually started to open up through consistent conversations and support from staff. Over time, he shared aspects of his difficult home life and spoke about the importance of having a safe space to come to outside of home. He also spoke about challenges he faced, including situations where he had come close to conflict.
Through building trust, staff were able to guide him towards positive outlets that aligned with his interests. After expressing a passion for music, he was encouraged to attend music studio sessions, where he now regularly participates alongside other young people. This has helped him feel more comfortable, connected and engaged within the space.
He has also begun taking part in boxing sessions, which provide a structured and positive outlet for his energy. These activities have supported his confidence, emotional expression and overall engagement.
This young person has made clear progress from being withdrawn and isolated to becoming more open, involved and connected. Having access to a safe, supportive environment and positive activities continues to play an important role in his development.
We are committed to being transparent about how our funding is used. We ensure that resources are used effectively to deliver meaningful outcomes for young people in our community.
